Description

A beautiful example of the Seiko Lord Matic 5606-7360, produced in 1974 and distinguished by one of the most striking dial configurations found within the Lord Matic range.

The watch features its original factory-finished fumé chocolate brown sunburst dial, transitioning from a warm mahogany centre into deeper brown tones towards the outer edge. The combination of the rich dial, gold-tone faceted markers and hands, and sharply defined stainless steel case gives this example a particularly elegant character.

The Lord Matic collection occupied an important position within Seiko's range during the 1970s, offering more refined styling and finishing alongside Seiko's dependable automatic movements. The 5606-7360 is particularly distinctive for its bright faceted barrel-shaped case, pronounced bevels and integrated-looking original LM bracelet.

Powered by Seiko's Calibre 5606A automatic movement, this 25-jewel example has been professionally serviced, including disassembly, cleaning, lubrication and regulation. The movement is currently keeping good time, while the day/date function operates correctly with the crown quickset.

The watch retains all of its genuine, period-correct Seiko components, including the original signed LM stainless steel bracelet and LM-signed clasp. The unrestored factory fumé dial remains in excellent condition, complemented by the sharply defined case and original faceted acrylic crystal.

About

Introduced during Seiko's period of rapid mechanical development, the Lord Matic collection occupied an important position within Seiko's range, sitting above the more accessible Seiko 5 models and offering more refined styling and mechanical sophistication. Lord Matic watches are recognised for their distinctive 1970s case designs, quality finishing and reliable automatic movements. Original examples with unrestored dials, genuine period-correct components and their original bracelets are particularly appealing to collectors of vintage Japanese watches. This 5606-7360 stands out for its combination of a sophisticated fumé chocolate brown dial, gold-tone detailing and sharply faceted stainless steel case. Paired with its original LM bracelet and serviced 25-jewel 5606A movement, it offers a particularly attractive example of Seiko's refined early-1970s mechanical watchmaking.

Care

As a vintage mechanical timepiece, this watch should be handled with care and kept away from water, steam and moisture. Avoid exposure to shocks, strong magnetic fields and extreme temperatures, and never force the crown or controls. When not being worn, store it in a clean, dry environment. Due to the age and delicate nature of vintage mechanical movements, regular professional servicing is recommended to maintain reliable performance and longevity.

It was a very pleasant shopping experience. All my questions were answered before I made the purchase. The item was dispatched very quickly and packaged extremely well. At a time when we often think twice before buying second-hand products, I found this company to be very trustworthy.
