Description

A beautifully understated example of the Longines Flagship, presented in the distinctive rectangular case of reference 4026 and paired with its original Milanese mesh bracelet and signed Longines clasp.

Dating from the 1975, this elegant Flagship combines a refined stainless-steel case with a clean silver dial, applied baton markers and classic Longines dauphine hands. Its slim profile and compact proportions give it a sophisticated presence on the wrist, while the original Milanese bracelet adds a particularly luxurious character to the watch.

Completing the case is the original signed Longines crown, a refined period detail that adds to the watch's authenticity and understated elegance.

Powering the watch is the Longines Calibre L.847.3, a 17-jewel manual-winding mechanical movement operating at 21,600 vibrations per hour. Known for its slim profile and elegant construction, it is suited to the watch’s compact, dress-oriented design.

The movement has been professionally serviced and lubricated, helping to ensure smooth operation and reliable timekeeping.

The watch retains its original steel Milanese mesh bracelet and signed clasp, an especially desirable feature that preserves the character and originality of this Flagship.

Condition

This Longines presents beautifully, with the restrained elegance that makes vintage Flagship models so appealing.

The silver dial, applied markers and classic Longines branding remain beautifully balanced within the angular case, while the original Milanese bracelet gives the watch a particularly sophisticated appearance.

The case shows signs of age and previous wear consistent with a vintage timepiece, preserving the character of a watch that has been worn and enjoyed rather than appearing overly refinished.

Furthermore, with vintage watches, delicate care and handling is required when activating movements, winding the watch, setting the time. The crown & stem can especially can be fragile.

About

Founded in Saint-Imier, Switzerland in 1832, Longines has a long history of combining traditional Swiss watchmaking with technical innovation and refined design. The Flagship, introduced in the late 1950s, became one of the brand's defining collections, representing Longines' approach to elegant, understated mechanical watches. Longines itself describes Flagship as one of its earliest collections and highlights its balance of tradition and elegance. The vintage Flagship models of the 1960s and 1970s are particularly distinctive for their restrained proportions, clean dials and mechanical movements. Reference 4026 embodies this approach in a compact rectangular form, pairing classic Swiss watchmaking with an effortlessly sophisticated design. For this particular example, the original Milanese bracelet and signed clasp add another layer of historical character, making the watch feel particularly complete and true to its period.

What's Included

Original box and papers are NOT included. As with many vintage timepieces, these original accessories have often been lost over the decades. If a watch is supplied with its original box, papers, or additional accessories, this will be clearly stated in the listing.

Care

As a vintage mechanical timepiece, this watch should be handled with care and kept away from water, steam and moisture. Avoid exposure to shocks, strong magnetic fields and extreme temperatures, and never force the crown or controls. When not being worn, store it in a clean, dry environment. Due to the age and delicate nature of vintage mechanical movements, regular professional servicing is recommended to maintain reliable performance and longevity. This timepiece has been carefully preserved for over 51 years. Although some vintage models were originally rated for water resistance, no vintage watch sold by The Vault & Time Collective should be considered water resistant. We recommend treating all vintage timepieces as non-water-resistant unless otherwise explicitly stated. Furthermore, with vintage watches, delicate care and handling is required when activating movements, winding the watch, setting the time. The crown & stem can especially can be fragile.
